கதை
You don't plant a palm for yourself.
Tamil Nadu's state tree, the Palmyra (ஆலடி), holds soil, raises groundwater, and feeds families across centuries. Every part — leaf, fruit, trunk, sap — sustains entire ecosystems and livelihoods.
We are restoring one million of them — not as a one-time drive, but as a lifelong guardianship: donors abroad and farmers at home, connected by GPS-verified photos every single month.
“ஒரு மரம், ஒரு வாழ்க்கை, ஒரு வாக்குறுதி.”
One tree · one life · one promise
Soil restoration
Deep Palmyra roots loosen laterite hardpan, letting water percolate and preventing topsoil erosion.
Groundwater recharge
Each adult palm transpires 40–70 litres daily, channelling rainfall deep into the water table.
Guardian livelihoods
Village guardians earn a verified monthly income for care records, climbing reports, and photo proof.

The trust behind the trees
Anbu Illam Trust — Anbu Illam means “house of love” in Tamil.
The palm programme sits inside a wider trust. Alongside reforestation, Anbu Illam runs residential care, hunger relief, and education and skills work in Chennai.
Residential Care
Safe, long-term residential care — a bed, three meals, medical attention, and the ordinary routine of a home for people who have lost access to one.
Hunger Relief
Cooked meals and monthly ration kits for households that are one bad week away from going without — delivered on a predictable schedule they can plan around.
Education & Skills
Fees, books, uniforms, and after-school support for children at risk of dropping out — and vocational training for young adults who already have.
